Strange Radio Team Event 23th/24th Oct 2004
Saturday, 30th Oct 2004

Tuned around 20m hoping to hear K5PAL at the Hot Pepper Festival (Having attended the UK Chilli Festival several times). Nothing heard, but worked IU7SRT Intrigued by their web site, I found out all about the SRT contest. On Sunday I tried to work some more SRT stations, but only managed IU7SRT again, on 15M! Ten points though, is not enough for a certificate..Well at least not the SRT one..

RSGB 21 and 28MHz SSB 3rd Oct 2004
Saturday, 30th Oct 2004

The results are in, 6th out of 7 in the QRP category, perhaps I should have entered in the restricted category, as I lacked a 60ft tower and Yagi!

My first contest entry. The wire antenna consisted of.. two bamboo canes joined with cable ties and fixed to a fence post at the end of the back garden to form the "mast",from which was strung a length of blue hookup wire, one end extending back to the second bedroom shack, the other to a far corner of the garden.. Used SD for the first time, which worked well, the log has now been sent off, so soon we shall see how well I did!

Radio - K2 10W, Heil headset.

Location - House.

Antenna - Long wire.

Log - 17 contacts and 9 multipliers, first contacts to the USA.
